You did the pre-launch. You did the launch. And now things are…slowing down.

What is all about?

There’s so much emphasis on the events leading up to publication, with loads of fanfare, attention and shareable content. But after all the confetti stops flying, we lose a little of that launch momentum (I know! I’ve done it myself!).

To sustain book sales and help that book you worked so hard on keep helping you, the promotion has to continue.

And even if you’ve been steadily marketing since launch, maybe the messaging is a bit out of date and needs a bit of a refresh.

Join the 10-day book promo sprint created by PR leader Lucy Werner

What does this course include?

During the sprint, you’ll get practical, fast-paced and actionable advice with an easy-to-follow plan and set of tools. I’ll be there to support and guide you through the actions with feedback to make sure the work you’re doing will work for you.

The plan:

Week One: Spring Clean & Declutter

Audit what you’ve done so far (and round-up all the endorsements, praise, feedback and data!)

Freshen communication pieces (author bio, one-liner, etc)

Create new promotional tools & messages, with plenty of ideas for article topics and press pitches

Week Two: Promo & Pitch

Targeted research and outreach: new reviewers, new readers, new pitches.

A plan to roll it all out: post & pitch for a successful relaunch!

Lucy Werner

Meet Lucy I won my book deal during a proposal challenge with Practical Inspiration Publishing and like many authors needed to manage my own book marketing. Through this experience, I learned to apply my 18 years of publicity experience to the publishing industry and have sold 8,000 copies to date. I’ve felt a natural gravitation towards writing and the impact I was able to achieve once I cracked into the industry. Now I help other aspiring and existing non-fiction authors do the same, raising their profile and driving more book sales. I’ve worked with clients including Emma Gannon, Samantha Clarke, Sam Conniff & Fiona Buckland.

FAQ

  • When and how long is it?

The 10-day sprint will start Monday 12th September - finishing Friday 24th September 2022.

  • What is the format

Each daily task will be emailed to you first thing in the morning (GMT timezone) and/ or each lesson will be unlocked on Thinkific with a discussion forum for Q&A. I’ll also be hosting 3 Zoom sessions for Q&As and live feedback

  • I’m a fiction writer, can I join?

My experience and network are based in the non-fiction world. A lot of what I will be sharing will be relevant to whatever your product is but the content, tips and accompanying resources focus on non-fiction authors.

  • What if I haven’t written my book yet?

Hold your horses! I’m working on some pre-launch book activity for later this year that is perfect for you. Join my mailing list to be notified.

  • Can you help me get a book deal?

Not right now. But take a look at the 10-day book proposal challenge that I completed to win my book deal as a starter

  • Will you do my PR?

I’m currently fully booked through September and am only taking on a few new clients at the end of the year.

  • What if my book is really (really) old?

If the content is still relevant, you can buy it online and you want to drive sales for it then let’s go.

  • What if my book was published by a major publisher?

Congratulations! This is not a traditional PR approach so should not be in conflict with any work your publisher is doing.

  • What if my book was self-published?

This is a sprint to help you with ideas, content and accountability to promote your book, in a sense who it is published by isn’t relevant for this activation.
